Obviously immediately when booted under some circumstances but whether it pops up each time a non-free component is used I am not sure. Not sure when the message pops up for Demo mode. I do not have GR Player installed to test and confirm that all of this is accurately described. For instance, if you picked a preset that used items not available they would run in demo mode. The reason it may be quitting after 30 minutes could be because you have chosen non-free factory selection elements. Any of the remaining components (excluding the limited factory selection) will run in demo mode.

They have nothing to do with building a tone. Everything displayed in the large area in your image (the tape deck, metronome, etc.) are the basic player's tools ("helpers"). In GR there are basic player's tools (called "helpers") and then there are components (amps and effects mostly) that are used to build a tone.

What is shown in the larger area of the interface are not components. Looking at your image, no components have been loaded yet.

You have to select the "Components" tab of the menu bar in order to view the available components. That is the entire GR5 Pro factory preset library.
